Radio Show/Draft Party/Jersey Unveiling/

Hello Buffalo Soldiers! I would like to thank you for taking a look at the site before this first post. This site is of course dedicated to not only the city of Buffalo, but all of Western New York and across the world who share the same passion we do for Buffalo sports! The first thing is that tomorrow from (6-8pm) EST, will be my weekly sports talk show on 91.3FM WBNY (or at www.wbny.org) which covers all sectors of Buffalo sports and league news from the NHL, MLB, NFL, and NBA. My producer Scott Gattie will be accompanying me and we'll be discussing the upcoming topics... 1) Quick recap of the Stanley Cup Finals 2) Upcoming NHL Draft and Sabres Draft Party (a preview of the draft) 3) What will be revealed as Winnipeg's logo/jersey/etc.? 4) ESPN's Ultimate Team Rankings and our opinions on the list. (also we'll create our own) 5) Thierry Henry's "Pat on the head" red card during the NY Red Bulls vs Portland 6) Our Favorite Sports Video Games/themes If possible we will be giving away a prize or two for our "Name that tune" where we will play a tune from a game and the first caller to guess it correctly will win said prize! Rick Reilly, Notre Dame's ultimate critic. R.I.P MCA/Bisons Game

   Yesterday  of course was a very sad day for not only myself, but for millions of people across the world.     The gravelly-voiced, and beloved hip hop pioneer from Brooklyn, NY has left us. Adam Yauch, aka "MCA" from the legendary hip hop group Beastie Boys, passed away today at the age of 47 after a three year battle with cancer. Yauch along with Michael Diamond (Mike D) formed the Beastie Boys in 1981, playing their first show on Yauch's 17th birthday.     The Beastie Boys were originally a punk band comprised of Yauch, Diamond, Kate Schellenbach, and John Berry. As Berry and Schellenbach left the band, Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) joined up and released their first album Licensed To Ill in 1986. 40 million albums later, the group still continued to tour until Yauch was unable to perform after being diagnosed with cancer in his salivary gland in 2009.     In honor of Yauch, the New York Mets used cuts from the Beastie ...

Recap Of Buffalo State Softball Tournament

Today, my radio station 91.3FM WBNY participated in the annual Buffalo State softball tournament at Bengal Field. Our team name this year was Dump Em' Out, inspired by former play by play for Buffalo State men's hockey Kory Reid (Dump em' out refers to women who, well you get the idea). WBNY's first game concluded in a 14-4 victory over the Bradley Bombers. This is the second victory for the radio station in organization athletics. It was a great experience being able to play with fellow DJ's, and actually win a game! Unfortunately our run came to a rather familiar halt. Losing 15-0 to the Poles & Holes (Really?) But the feeling of winning a game was satisfying enough that it somewhat healed the pain of getting thrashed the way we did.  Among other notes, summer vacation is drawing near and I am on my way to begin interning with WGR Sports Radio 550AM!
